Postdoc at Georgia Tech
I'm a postdoctoral research fellow in the BORG lab at the Georgia Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Frank Dellaert.
I received my bachelor in Mechatronic Engineering in 2006 from Politecnico di Torino. In 2008 I achieved the MS degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the same university and MS degree in Automation Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. In 2010 I was a visiting student at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, and in 2011 I held a visiting student position at the University of California Santa Barbara, United States. I defended my PhD thesis in Robotics at Politecnico di Torino (February 2012) where I also spent one year as a postdoc in the Robotics Research Group.
My research interests include estimation, optimization and control applied to mobile robotics, with special focus on localization, mapping, and decision making for mobile robots navigation.
January 17, 2015 - our paper on bearing-only localization in collaboration with Roberto Tron, Kostas Daniilidis and Frank Dellaert has been accepted at ACC 2015.
January 13, 2015 - I'm in the program committee of ETFA 2015 (IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation). Here is the call for papers.
July 20, 2014 - our paper on fast Bundle Adjustment via factor grouping and data mining has been accepted for oral presentation at BMVC 2014 (acceptance rate 7.7%)
July 16, 2014 - The "Workshop on Multi View Geometry in RObotics" we organized with Vadim Indelman and Frank Dellaert at RSS2014 was very successful! Great invited speakers and huge participation!
June 28, 2014 - a productive year for the group. but the best is yet to come!

December 18, 2013 - our paper "A fast and accurate approximation for planar pose graph optimization" has been accepted for publication on the International Journal of Robotics Research
November 11, 2013 - our paper "Distributed random convex programming via constraints consensus" has been accepted for publication on the SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization
October 20, 2013 - the paper "From angular manifolds to the integer lattice: guaranteed orientation estimation with application to pose graph optimization" that I wrote with Andrea Censi has been accepted for publication on the Transactions on Robotics
